Overview

Elysium Digital was founded in 1997 and provides an array of world-class services—focusing on expert testimony and IP litigation consulting—to help in-house counsel and law firms succeed in technology-related legal matters.

Founding and Mission

In 1997, Elysium's founders, Christian Hicks and Peter Creath, made critical contributions to the U.S. v. Microsoft antitrust case. While working on this case with David Boies, testifying expert Edward Felten, and the Department of Justice, Christian and Peter crystallized Elysium's mission: provide accessible technical expertise to lawyers. A lot of time has passed and many things have changed since then, but Elysium's mission has remained the same.

Expanding Services

We broadened and deepened our service offerings in support of our mission and our clients over our history. Initially a consulting company, Elysium began directly offering expert witness testimony in intellectual property matters in 2001, and began offering consulting services in computer security starting in 2003. We added patent portfolio analysis to Elysium's IP strategy services in 2006.

In 2001, we built a forensics team, which became its own department in 2006. Our forensic investigations have been provided by Stroz Friedberg since our acquisition in 2015 and respectively by Aon's Cyber Solutions group after Stroz Friedberg's acquisition by Aon in 2016.

Over the years, the work of Elysium and its experts has attracted coverage in TIME, Newsweek, CNET, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, Boston's WCVB NewsCenter 5, and other national and local news outlets. We were also featured on Good Morning America.

Our growth has made Elysium the leading provider of technical litigation consulting services for in-house counsel, law firms, and government agencies.
